So heres a picture of a tree, a mango tree to be specific, I've been painting but I can't decide how much I should touch it up. I want to keep going with it but I'm a fan of how the brush strokes and yellow vs. black looks now. Up close you can see how I laid out the basic form with blotches and then layered slashing brush strokes with heavy oval dots. It is comprised of 22 canvases or canvi (I'm a fan of that being the plural even though it's incorrect). All 22 canvi combine to form the silhouette of the tree. The right side is misaligned thats why the branches are lower, not because of Irene...
It's pretty irritating how I have been messing around with it to get it back to its original state and have not been accomplishing this. I knew I should have taken a picture of it when I first put it up but nooo I had this idea "It will be interesting to see how it changes each time I pin it up, it'll be more dynamic." Well, past tense Jeff you were wrong now it just irks me terribly, but that just means I'll have to lay it out on the floor and move it around until I like it THEN! I will take a picture.
The yellow is so bright and happy with the silhouette of the tree and the mango tree has it's own tropical feel. The ocean always brings favorable feelings and the tree alone on the oceanside rocks gives a sense of calm and peacefulness. I think adding a few bright yellow canvases to any wall would brighten up the room. It would be interestingly simple.
